Lauren Raymond, MD is a current general surgery resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital. During her dedicated 2-year research time, she joined the National Clinician Scholars program at Yale, received funding and research mentorship through Yale’s T-32 Program in Geriatric Epidemiology and Aging-Related Research, and pursued a Master of Health Science (MHS) degree from the Yale School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon and her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
Dr. Raymond’s research interests include exploring the intersection between patient frailty and perioperative outcomes to improve surgical expectation setting and goal-concordant care delivery in geriatric patients. Her long-term career goal is to lead a health policy-focused research team to generate actionable analyses to guide policy reform for geriatric patients with life-threatening illnesses. As a physician-scientist and future surgical oncologist, she plans to emphasize goal-concordant care for patients with life-threatening illnesses both at the bedside and at a policy level.
