Lisa Jane Jacobsen, MD, MPH, MSHPEd
Lisa Jane Jacobsen, MD, MPH, MSHPEd, is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Associate Dean for Curricular Innovation at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. Dr. Jacobsen has led the creation and implementation of the school’s transformational WellBeyond Curriculum which is designed to create inquisitive, knowledgeable, patient-centered, research-ready, physician leaders who have the skills to succeed in the complex healthcare environment of the 21st Century. She is committed to ensuring students receive the most up-to-date medical knowledge using evidence-based teaching techniques.
Her clinical practice is in obstetrics, gynecology and pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She is involved in teaching students across all 4 years of training in the classroom as well as clinical setting. She is a Course Director for the reproductive pathophysiology module at the medical school and is actively involved in designing and implementing innovative Interprofessional Practice Education curricula with the IPE Leadership team. Jacobsen received her medical degree, master’s in public health and completed her obstetrics/gynecology residency and pediatric and adolescent gynecology fellowship at Tufts University School of Medicine. She also holds a master’s degree in health professions education from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions.
