Dr. Melanie Aya-ay is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Tampa Bay with over 15 years of plastic surgery experience specializing in cosmetic surgery, reconstructive breast surgery and minimally invasive techniques for facial and body rejuvenation.  She is known for her skill and excellence in revision surgery, specifically for difficult breast surgery revisions.  Dr. Aya-ay graduated as valedictorian of her high school class and received magna cum laude honors with her bachelor’s degree in Biology at West Virginia University. She obtained her doctorate from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2003 then ventured to Tampa, Florida, to train in General Surgery, Burn Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of South Florida. Dr. Aya-ay met and married her husband during medical school and they welcomed three children born during her surgical training.

She began her Plastic Surgery private practice in 2010 and is now located in North Tampa, Florida.  Dr. Aya-ay is the CEO and Founder of Melanie L. Aya-ay, MD Plastic Surgery as well as Vivia MedSpa.

Education of her patients as well as her colleagues is an important part of Dr. Aya-ay’s role in the community and nationally.  Dr. Aya-ay is an Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) National Trainer for Facial Aesthetics and AMI National Speaker for Plastic and Regenerative Medicine.  She is honored to be the first female surgeon to hold this dual faculty position and is currently the only physician in the nation with this educational role with Allergan.
