Nova Szoka, MD (she/her) is an Associate Professor of Surgery at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Her education includes a medical degree from UC Davis School of Medicine, general surgery residency at the University of New Mexico, and fellowship in advanced minimally invasive/bariatric surgery at Duke University.  Dr. Szoka performs bariatric/metabolic and foregut surgery using minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques. Her research interests include obesity & bariatric outcomes, healthcare disparities and surgical innovation. She is also the founder of Endolumik, Inc., a company developing fluorescence guided surgical tools.
