Sanziana Roman, MD

Dr. Sanziana Roman is Professor of Surgery and Medicine at UCSF. Her clinical interest is in endocrine and minimally invasive surgery. Her research interests include endocrine neoplasia outcomes and health disparities in access and treatment for thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal diseases. She has worked in DEI spaces for more than two decades and is a founding member of the Association of Out Surgeons and Allies. Prior to embarking on her surgical career, she was a professional opera singer in the U.S. and Europe. She is the inventor of the Roman singing mask, a joint creation with the San Francisco Opera.
